Göteborg has a very active and exciting music scene and Mainz-based music magazine fauves is known to have strong ties with it. Our friends from Two Year Vacation, who signed with famous label Warner Music recently, have been refurnishing their 2016-hit “Better Off Alone” together with the one and only György Barocsai. The result is quite pleasing for every indie music lover out there who loves catchy tunes and well produced, clean songs. For our post we asked various music-people from all over Sweden to tell us what they think about the new release.

Eldoradio: “A refreshing track out of Göteborg that makes you want to dance your heartbreak away.”

VÅRØ: “Even though they look like they’re always on vacation, they’re one of the hardest working bands in Gothenburg. They manage to combine huge ambitions with a laid-back attitude and it’s been great to see them develop and grow through the years. They hail from the idea that great things can happen if the local scene collaborates and even though they mainly work towards Germany now they’ll always be a part of us and Gothenburg.”

Lofot: “It’s impossible not to dig! Love the quirky sounds.”

Gustav (Ruby Empress): “I like it very much. A kind of White pop version of Bruno Mars – at least the vers, the baseline. Catchy chorus.”

Anton Alvin (Flaws): “Beautiful, funny, sunny and a fantastic production from one of my absolute favourite bands on earth.”

Manfred (Dofhiort’n): “The song is like a pizza: Guitars crisp as the pizza edge and melodies sticky as mozzarella.”

Anna Henriksson: “I really like the song! It has this energetic disco sound of a garage rock band from the 90’s. 🙂 It’s a break up song without regrets! Refreshing!”

Jacob (Ennui): “Instant hook! Our new Tinder anthem.”
